Sun Spider (Ammotrechula sp.) Merida, Yucatan, Mexico I captured this little guy a few says ago. The day after capturing it, I went to check inside its enclosure, and I couldn't find it anywhere! I thought it was not possible for it to have escaped through the small slit for oxygen to get in, but I simply couldn't find it, and I just assumed it was still inside and kept leaving food. Today I looked inside and noticed some wood dust around a piece of wood, I grabbed the wood and felt it quite soft, I pulled it a little bit and it cracked open, and there it was! Whenever I go out to explore again, I'll look around the pieces of wood to see if I can see some of this wood dust. Perhaps this is the key to finding them, since they usually pretty rare! |
