The most extensive range is in the Cilician Taurus Mts. of S Turkey extending into N Syria; disjunct populations occur in Lebanon and one locality in Israel, with the farthest at ca. 800 km from the Turkish populations, in the Parnon Massif in Peloponnisos, Greece.
