English: Pleasley Colliery Not been for a while and find landscaping and a new car park. The big Markham winder is in the house to the left with 1873 on its cross gable and the 1902 lilleshall is to the right. The latter can now be driven by an electric motor and is most impressive. This site was derelict and largely roofless in the not too distant past and Bob Metcalfe and Friends of Pleasley Pit have wrought a minor miracle in getting it into its current state. There are people on site on Sunday mornings and they will make you welcome.
