This seems to have a reputation for being of very borderline hardiness in the UK. The fact that it was completely undamaged and has chosen to start flowering straight after one of the harshest winters we've had in a long while suggests that it might be just as hardy as many other Chilean favourites, such as Desfontainea, (which also went undamaged in a much more exposed position this year), Luma, Crinodendron, Eucryphia or Embothrium.
